City Council Minutes <br /> December 7, 2004 <br /> Page 5 <br /> -------------------------- <br /> Mark Jurchen addressed the Council regarding insurance. He indicated <br /> that the City would be receiving an insurance dividend. He thanked the <br /> Council for their past business and requested the Council to consider <br /> renewing Lakeland as the City's agency of record for 2005. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO APPOINT LAKELAND <br /> AGENCY AS THE CITY'S AGENCY OF RECORD FOR 2005. COUNCIL <br /> MEMBER BOLZ-ANDOLSHEK SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 7-0. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED NOT TO WAIVE THE MONETARY <br /> LIMITS ON THE MUNICIPAL TORT LIABILITY ESTABLISHED BY <br /> MINNESOTA STATUTES 466.04. COUNCIL MEMBER BOLZ- <br /> ANDOLSHEK SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> 8.4. Consultant Contract Renewals <br /> The Clerk questioned if the Council wanted to automatically renew existing <br /> consultant contracts or whether the Council wanted to request proposals. <br /> The Council requested the Clerk to go out for proposals for the City <br /> Attorney and the City Planner and to renew the contract with WSN. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO RENEW THE CONTRACT WITH <br /> WSN FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR 2005. COUNCIL MEMBER <br /> AKERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> 9. Police Report <br /> The police report was presented by the Chief of Police. <br /> 9.1. Joint Powers Agreement for Emergency Mutual Assistance <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO ENTER INTO A JOINT <br /> POWERS AGREEMENT FOR INTER CITY EMERGENCY MUTUAL <br /> ASSISTANCE. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> Emergency Siren <br /> Chief Forsberg noted that it will cost$14,000 to replace the existing siren <br /> which is not working and cannot be fixed. He reviewed the proposal with <br /> the Council. He indicated that the 2005 budget will have $8,000 toward the <br /> `, siren and that he is hoping to get a grant for$3,000. <br />
