City Council Minutes <br /> December 7, 2004 <br /> Page 4 <br /> -------------------------- <br /> 7.3. Environmental Assessment Overfight Proposal <br /> This item was delayed until later in the agenda. <br /> 8.1. Employee Pay Increase <br /> The City Council discussed a pay increase for City employees for 2005. It <br /> was noted that a 5% increase was given in 2004 and that the 2005 budget <br /> has allowed for up to a 3% increase. <br /> Council Member Ryan indicated that the health insurance premium <br /> increase given to the employees is a benefit to employees and felt that it <br /> should be figured into the pay increase equation. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO INCREASE ALL <br /> EMPLOYEE'S WAGE BY 3%. COUNCIL MEMBER JOHNSON <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-3. <br /> ROLL CALL: COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN — NAY; COUNCIL MEMBER <br /> PFEIFFER — NAY; COUNCIL MEMBER JOHNSON —AYE; MAYOR <br /> MALECHA— AYE; COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD — AYE; COUNCIL <br /> MEMBER BOLZ-ANDOLSHEK—AYE; COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON <br /> — NAY. <br /> 8.2. Public Road Easement to Sibley Lake <br /> The City clerk indicated that Greg Karr has requested the City to sell him a <br /> ten foot public road easement that runs from West Lake Street to Sibley <br /> Lake located in the Pequot Shady Shores Plat. The Clerk noted that the <br /> plat indicates that the streets on the plat are dedicated as "public use <br /> forever." She noted that she has received letters and comments from <br /> surrounding residents requesting that the City not vacate the road. <br /> Greg Karr indicated that he was concerned that property near the road <br /> easement would be developed. Kathy Karr indicated she would like to see <br /> the property back on the taxes. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED THAT THE ROAD REMAIN AS <br /> PUBLIC USE AND NOT BE VACATED. COUNCIL MEMBER PFEIFFER <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> 8.3. Consider Lakeland Agency as Insurance Accent of Record <br />
