City Council Minutes <br /> November 9, 2004 <br /> Page 8 <br /> ------------------------------ <br /> 8.5. Budget Review <br /> The City Clerk reviewed the proposed 2005 budgets with the Council. She <br /> noted that these are the budget numbers that will be presented at the <br /> Truth and Taxation Hearing on December 7. She also reviewed the <br /> proposed tax levy. It was the consensus of the Council that the proposed <br /> budget and 1.1 million dollar tax levy is what will be presented to the <br /> public on December 7. <br /> 8.6. Thanksgiving Holiday <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER JOHNSON MOVED TO CLOSE CITY HALL ON <br /> THE DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING FOR THE YEAR 2004 AND THAT <br /> ANY EMPLOYEES WISHING TO HAVE THE DAY OFF WILL USE <br /> COMP TIME, VACATION, PERSONAL TIME, OR TIME OFF WITHOUT <br /> PAY. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> 8.7. Appoint Highway 371 Committee <br /> Mayor Malecha presented the Council with a member list for the Highway <br /> 371 Committee. Chris Greer requested to be on the Committee. It was <br /> suggested that he be an alternate. The Council discussed whether actual <br /> members should be appointed or whether it would be best to have the <br /> groups select their own choice of members. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO FORM A COMMITTEE TO <br /> WORK WITH MNDOT ON THE HIGHWAY 371 PROJECT AND THAT <br /> ONE REPRESENTATVE BE ON THE COMMITTEE FROM THE <br /> FOLLOWING GROUPS: <br /> • PLANNING AND ZONING <br /> • PLADO <br /> • CHAMBER OF COMMERCE <br /> • ROADS AND STREETS (STAFF MEMBER AND COUNCIL) <br /> • CITY COUNCIL <br /> • WATER/SEWER <br /> • ENGINEER <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER JOHNSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 7-0. <br />
