Police Chief's Report <br /> Police Chief report provided by Chief Forsberg. <br /> Chief Forsberg requested the Council to adopt a resolution regarding a <br /> Safe and Sober Grant. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 04- <br /> 30 AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT OF A SAFE AND <br /> SOBER GRANT. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> Chief Forsberg noted that the civil defense siren is inoperable and in need <br /> of replacement. He questioned whether the Council wanted to continue to <br /> sound the siren at 12:00 and 6:00. He further noted that with the merger of <br /> Sibley and Pequot there is a need for more sirens to cover more area. It <br /> was the consensus of the Council to look at the cost of one siren and to <br /> work with surrounding communities in the possibility of covering outlying <br /> areas. <br /> 10. Fire Chiefs Report <br /> Fire report presented by Chief Nelson. Chief Nelson informed the Council <br /> that the Fire Department received a matching grant from the DNR for <br /> water storage tanks. Chief Nelson thanked Nancy Rudbeck for putting the <br /> fire department information on the City's web page. <br /> 11. Water/Wastewater Supervisor's Repo rtWater/Wastewater Supervisor's <br /> Report <br /> The Council reviewed the report. Council Member Akerson indicated that <br /> the Council should consider getting some help for the water/wastewater <br /> superintendent. Council Member Bolz-Andolshek indicated that currently <br /> he is calling for mutual aid from Breezy Point when necessary. It was the <br /> consensus of the Council to get some options together for the December <br /> Council meeting and to discuss it at that time. <br /> 12.
