City Council Minutes Page 4 <br /> June 1, 2004 <br /> ------------------------------------ <br /> `-- COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO DENY THE REQUEST TO <br /> REZONE THE PROPERTY. COUNCIL MEMBER PFEIFFER <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> Council Member Akerson questioned why the property could not be <br /> rezoned. Mr. Dean Williams, Planning Commission representative, stated <br /> that the property owner can develop the property into four lots and the <br /> intent of the forestry zone would continue to protect the environment, <br /> preserve undeveloped areas and provide outdoor recreation. <br /> MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> 7. Fire Chief's Report <br /> Fire Chief Nelson indicated that the cost to run water to the new city hall is <br /> about $2,900, which could be split by the Fire Department, the <br /> Maintenance Department and the Water Department. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER BOLZ-ANDOLSHEK MOVED TO PROCEED WITH <br /> BRINGING WATER TO THE NEW CITY HALL. COUNCIL MEMBER <br /> RYAN SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> 8. Maintenance Supervisor's Report <br /> No report. <br /> 9. Water/Wastewater Supervisor's Report <br /> The Council noted the certificate of commendation from the MPCA. <br /> Dru's Garden <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER JOHNSON MOVED THAT THE CITY PROVIDE <br /> WATER TO DRU'S GARDEN AT NO COST. COUNCIL MEMBER <br /> PFEIFFER SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> 10.1. Request to Reduce Speed Limit on C.R. 11 <br /> The Chief of Police noted that he is working with the County to lower the <br /> speed limit on C.R. 11 to 30 mph from Permatite to town. <br /> 10.2. Request Change in Employee Hours <br /> The Chief of Police requested the Council to consider reducing Trina <br /> Marana's hours from 40 hours per week to 24 hours per week and to <br />
