Pending review and approval of the Facility Plan Report <br /> by the MPCA, the City of Pequot lakes would be in a position to authorize preliminary <br /> engineering design of the future wastewater treatment system. <br /> Scope of Services <br /> The following section provides a brief description and anticipated engineering fees <br /> associated with each major task included in the Wastewater Treatment System <br /> Assessment. A summary of engineering fees is included following this description of <br /> project tasks. <br /> Task 1: Review operating data including flow, treatment effectiveness, disposal and <br /> other pertinent operating information <br /> Representatives of AE2S will review and analyze historical wastewater system data in <br /> order to determine trends. AE2S will also complete an overview of the existing <br /> wastewater collection, treatment, and disposal system. <br /> Anticipated Engineering Fees= $ 1,800 <br /> Task 2: Research Regulatory Requirements <br /> This task involves the identification and research of planning level regulatory criteria <br /> applicable to the Pequot Lakes wastewater system. Particular attention will be applied to <br /> the disposal options of spray irrigation and rapid infiltration basins. Representatives of <br /> AE2S will contact and meet with appropriate MPCA personnel in order to collect the <br /> necessary information. In addition to disposal information, data relating to historical and <br /> potential soil and groundwater nitrate contamination will be collected. <br /> Anticipated Engineering Fees= $ 1,200 <br /> Task 3: Collect Surrounding Community Wastewater Information <br /> AE2S will contact representatives from surrounding communities that are within close <br /> proximity to Pequot Lakes. The intent is to collect wastewater related information that may <br /> affect future plans for the Pequot Lakes system. <br /> Anticipated Engineering Fees= $ 750 <br /> Task 4: Identify and Evaluate Alternatives <br /> AE2S will provide a preliminary evaluation of the alternatives available to the City of <br /> Pequot Lakes to manage the future wastewater requirements and meet the needs of the <br /> growing community. In addition to the technical evaluation of the wastewater treatment <br /> system alternatives, AE2S will also evaluate the financial implications of the alternatives. <br /> Representatives of AE2S will develop planning level opinions of capital and operational <br /> costs for the various conceptual alternatives.
