Our Council has just authorized the purchase of the Plan It <br /> Software for our Capital Improvement Planning Process. They have asked me to check references on the <br /> software. <br /> Would you please help us out? <br /> 1. How long have you had the software? <br /> About 5 years. The previous Administrator purchased the software in either 1999 or 2000. <br /> 2. Are you happy with the software? <br /> Very Happy. I think the City has underutilized the software over the five years, but recently we've been working <br /> on updating or capital plans and its come in very handy <br /> 3. Are there any features that you feel the software is lacking in? <br /> I haven't figured out yet how to carry over fund balances. I do a separate spreadsheet showing capital <br /> equipment cash flow. I'm not sure if you are able to do this with the software or not. <br /> 4. Is the software easy to use? <br /> Very easy to use. I taught it to myself and Bill is excellent with working with you if you have any problems. <br /> Any other comments you can give would be appreciated. I haven't had any problems and it's fairly easy to use. Considering there isn't <br /> much available for CIP software, it does a pretty good job. It runs off Microsoft Access, so it's limited to whatever <br /> Access can do. I would like to be able to customize the reports a little more, but that's not possible.
