City Council Minutes <br /> September 6, 2005 <br /> Page 8 of 12 <br /> -------------------------- <br /> 10. Fire Chief <br /> The Fire Chief indicated that the department has received a tanker truck <br /> from the DNR. The cost of the truck is $1,500 for freight. He further <br /> indicated that the tank needs to be cut to a smaller size and will cost a <br /> maximum of$8,000. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO SPEND $1,500 TO PAY THE <br /> FREIGHT FOR THE TANKER TRUCK WITH FUNDS TO COME FROM <br /> THE PROCEEDS OF THE FIREMAN'S PANCAKE BREAKFAST. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 7-0. <br /> Chief Nelson indicated that the Firefighter's have voted to dismiss John <br /> Lauer from the Fire Department as he has not met the requirements of the <br /> by-laws, specifically showing up for fire calls. Chief Nelson also indicated <br /> that the Fire Department would like to increase the number of firefighters <br /> from 26 to 27. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO DISMISS JOHN LAUER <br /> FROM THE FIRE DEPARTMENT BASED ON HIM NOT MEETING THE <br /> RESPONSE REQUIREMENTS AS STATED IN THE BYLAWS. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER GREER SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 7-0. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER GREER MOVED TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF <br /> FIREFIGHTERS FROM 26 TO 27. COUNCIL MEMBER PFEIFFER <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> 11. City Clerk's Monthly Report <br /> The Clerk presented the monthly report. <br /> 11.1. Audit Proposal <br /> The Clerk presented the audit proposal from LarsonAllen. She noted that <br /> LarsonAllen would not lower the proposed cost, however, the City would <br /> be billed according to hours. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO SIGN THE CONTRACT WITH <br /> LARSONALLEN FOR THE 2005 AUDIT AT $17,500. COUNCIL <br /> MEMBER NAGEL SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br />
