City Council Minutes <br /> July 5, 2005 <br /> Page 4of8 <br /> ----------------------------- <br /> CONTINGENCY FUND. COUNCIL MEMBER GREER SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> 6.1. Breezy Point/Pequot Lakes Police <br /> Mayor Malecha indicated that Breezy Point Police Department has <br /> requested the City of Pequot Lakes to consider combining police <br /> departments. <br /> Council Member Sjoblad stated that he feels each town has a different <br /> personality and that we should strive to keep our identity separate. Mayor <br /> Malecha indicated that there are also significant economic differences to <br /> consider. Mayor Malecha indicated that she and Council Member Sjoblad <br /> will meet with the Mayor and Police Chief of Breezy Point to consider the <br /> issue. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER GREER MOVED THAT COUNCIL MEMBER <br /> SJOBLAD AND MAYOR MALECHA MEET WITH BREEZY POINT TO <br /> GATHER INFORMATION REGARDING THE ISSUE. COUNCIL <br /> MEMBER NAGEL SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> `-- The Council requested the following issues to be addressed: <br /> • Accountability <br /> • Cost <br /> • What is the advantage to Pequot Lakes? <br /> • How does this affect Jenkins and the School <br /> • Salaries <br /> MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> 7. Water/Wastewater Supervisor's Report <br /> Report presented by Brett Twardy. <br /> 7.1. Fire Hydrant Replacement <br /> Brett provided two quotes to replace a fire hydrant. He recommended the <br /> lowest quote of$5,100 from Tom's Backhoe service. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO ACCEPT THE QUOTE FROM <br /> TOM'S BACKHOE SERVICE OF $5,100 TO REPLACE A FIRE <br /> HYDRANT. COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br />
