8.b Employees have the obligation to work overtime or call backs if requested by the <br />Employer, provided the emplayee meets departmental policy standards for <br />reporting for duty. <br />8.7 Overtime shifts shall be offered in order of seniority to available, qualified <br />employees. A shift which is worked by a part-time employee at straight time is <br />not considered an overtime shift. <br />ARTICLE 9 <br />HOLIDAYS <br />9.1 All full-time employees shall receive eight (8) hours holiday pay for the following <br />paid holidays: <br />New Year's Day <br />President's Day <br />Foui�th of July <br />Veteran's Day <br />Christmas Day <br />Martin Luther King Day <br />Memorial Day <br />Labor Day <br />Thanksgiving Day <br />In addition, the employee shall receive sixteen (16} haurs ofpersanal leave. <br />Holidays shall be celebrated on the day that they occur. <br />Sick leave may not be used iinmediately before or after a holiday, unless <br />authorized by the Police Chief. <br />9.2 An employee who works on any of the above mentioned holidays (exciuding <br />personal leave day) shall receive pay at one and one-half (1'/�) times the <br />employee's regular straight time haurly rate for all such hours tivorked on the <br />holiday, pl�.is straight time holiday pay for the employee's scheduled hours worked <br />for the hoiiday. If the employee does not work the holiday, the employee shall <br />receive eight (8) hours holiday pay. <br />9.3 Pet•sanal leave days shall be paid at the Einplayee's regular straight time wage <br />rate. An employee wishing to take a personal leave day must obtain permission <br />froin the Police Chief or designee. Personal leave time may be utilized by the <br />employee one (I) hour at a time. <br />9.4 <br />When a paid holiday falls during a vacation period, the employee shall receive <br />straight time pay for that holiday and 6e entitled to another day of vacation. <br />22�9�1� 9 <br />-1 <br />
