City Council Minutes
June 6, 2006
Page 3of12
-----------------------------
Norman Teigen — 1106 Trailwood N., Hopkins— "He is a summer person"
Will continue to come to Pequot no matter what is decided.
Nancy Adams — Olson Road — Cost incurred by going through town is a
burden to taxpayers. In favor of the by-pass.
Curt Johnson — 10353 Strawberry Road —Also representing Kermit Sutton
and other people. There is a flaw in the design of a by-pass as there is no
arterial carrier road. By-pass will be detrimental to businesses. In favor of
through town. (Distributed a letter from Mr. Sutton requesting the Council
to stand by its earlier commitments).
Jane Ness — Pequot Lakes —The through town option is unsafe. In favor
of the by-pass.
Tom Adams —4841 Olson Road —Questioned what the City will look like
in 20-25 years from now with a through town route. In favor of the by-pass.
Barbara Day— Scandia North — Businesses in town will deliver services.
Sally Peterson —30893 Pequot Blvd. —Town and businesses will not
survive if the Highway goes around town. In favor of through town.
Greg Seils — Crow Wing Auto Body— His business will survive either way.
He is concerned about how to pay for the highway expansion.
Jack Schmidt—The highway through town will not bring the people to
Pequot. The lakes in the area bring the people here. In favor of the by-
pass.
Scott Pederson — 3823 County Road 17 — MnDOT is building the road for
safety.
Jim Nystrom — 28210 St. Hwy. 371 — In favor of the by-pass.
Teresa Ryan — Pequot Lakes — Going around town will destroy many
trees.
