In favor of through town. <br /> Council Member Nagel read Resolution 06-23 which gives reasons for rerouting <br /> the Highway 371 corridor east of town. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 06-23 IN <br /> SUPPORT OF RE-ROUTING HIGHWAY 371 TO A CORRIDOR EAST OF <br /> TOWN. COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> Council Member Pfeiffer indicated that a by-pass will not make Pequot Lakes <br /> safer. <br /> Council Member Ryan addressed many of the issues discussed by those in favor <br /> of a by-pass. He stated that the EIS has already addressed all impacts. He <br /> further indicated that MnDOT will pay for some of the City frontage and backage <br /> roads. He noted that going through town is consistent with the comprehensive <br /> plan and further stated that the by-pass route costs about $25 - $30 million <br /> dollars more. Council Member Ryan stated he is in favor of the through town <br /> route and feels a change at this time will only divide the community. <br /> Council Member Sjoblad stated he is still in favor of the by-pass. He noted his <br /> concerns with the through town route are safety, limited access, noise and <br /> parking on County Road 11. <br /> Council Member Bolz-Andolshek noted that a by-pass will slow commercial <br /> progress in the City. He stated he is in favor of the through town route. <br /> ROLL CALL VOTE: VOTING AYE — COUNCIL MEMBERS GREER, NAGEL, <br /> SJOBLAD AND MAYOR MALECHA. VOTING NAY— COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> BOLZ-ANDOLSHEK, PFEIFFER AND RYAN. MOTION CARRIED 4-3. <br /> The Council recessed at 7:50 p.m. and reconvened at 7:07 p.m. <br /> 5.1. Audit <br />
