City Council Minutes <br /> April 4, 2006 <br /> Page 5 of 9 <br /> ----------------------------- <br /> 8.1. Update on Computer and SCADA system at Water Plant <br /> Heather Silseth from Advanced Engineering was present to discuss the <br /> need to replace the computer and SCADA software at the waterplant. <br /> Brett Twardy indicated that Advanced Engineering has submitted a bid of <br /> $12,215 for the replacement. He indicated he would be receiving another <br /> bid. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO APPROVE THE LOWEST <br /> BIDDER FOR THE COMPUTER AND SCADA SOFTWARE AT THE <br /> WATER PLANT WITH FUNDS TO COME FROM CAPITAL OUTLAY. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 7-0. <br /> 8.2. Project Priority List <br /> Brett briefly reviewed the need to determine priorities for the water and <br /> wastewater systems so that the City can submit requests to be placed on <br /> the Project Priority List for funding or grants. The list of priorities Brett <br /> suggested includes: <br /> 1. Highway 371 expansion —water and sewer placement issues <br /> 2. Replacement of existing sewer infrastructure that is deteriorating <br /> 3. Current Highway 371 — areas without water and sewer <br /> 4. Purchase land available for future expansion of the ponds and or <br /> redesign to RIBS <br /> Council Member Ryan suggested adding Business park expansion to the <br /> list. <br /> 8.3. Conference Attendance <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL MOVED TO AUTHORIZE BRETT <br /> TWARDY TO ATTEND A USER CHARGE ANALYSIS WATER & <br /> SEWER RATES WORKSHOP. COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br /> The Council congratulated Brett Twardy on receiving the annual award <br /> from the MPCA. <br />
