PEQUOT LAKES FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> MINUTES OF THE NOVEMBER 7, 2007 MEETING <br /> The monthly meeting of the PLFD was called to order by Chief Nelson, 24 members <br /> were present. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved by a motion by <br /> Evenson, second by Zeimet, motion passed. <br /> Rickard stated that all the repairs and modifications listed in last month's meeting were <br /> done except the turn signal switch for Grass truck 1. <br /> Engine 1 needs hydraulic oil for the Hurst tool and a roll of duct tape. Engine 2 is good <br /> and it also has the new gas monitor which is located next to the flash lights. Engine 3 has <br /> no brake lights and did not pass the pump certification test. The tender was OK. Rescue 1 <br /> and 2 were good. Tankers 1, 2, and 3 were all good. The ATV has a fan blade slippng on <br /> the shaft and the trailer coupler is bent and loose. Grass truck 1 has the bad turn signal <br /> switch and grass truck 2 is missing a flash light, but has a lantern. <br /> Casanova would like to recommend that we check all our fuel cans to make sure it is <br /> fresh and treat all cans with sea foam. <br /> The financial report lists our fire fund balance at $70,700.00. About half of this will be <br /> used for payroll next month. Our checking account balance is $4896.21. During the <br /> month we paid $125.00 for the tables from the Historical society, reimbursed Tasha $5.96 <br /> for photos, paid $180.00 for a video cable, and paid $52.30 for pop. We deposited <br /> $500.00 from the Moraines. The scholarship fund balance is $1467.47. Loven motioned <br /> to accept the report, second by Wendt, motion passed. <br /> The Chief announced that the pump service company that did our pump certification for <br /> our pump trucks will do a free pump class for us. <br /> We discussed the letter from Ray Steffens, thanking us for a great job done at his <br /> chimney fire. <br /> We received a $2500.00 donation from the Agstar Group to be used for radios and <br /> pagers. They are from Mankato and help fund rural areas. We also will receive a <br /> $1200.00 donation from the Women's Legion Auxiliary to be used for acquiring new wet <br /> suits are leaking. <br /> The Safety thought for tonight is from an E-mail from Kevin Mahle reminding us that <br /> there are over 100 fire fighter line of duty deaths across the United States during 2007. <br /> There are two months left this year, and we need to be concerned for safety. Loven <br /> reminded the group to be especially careful in discussions of critical situations during or <br /> after a fire call incident. <br />
