City Council Minutes <br />December 3, 2013 <br />Page 5 of 10 <br />-------------------------- <br />MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO CHANGE THE SIGN REPLACEMENT <br />FEE TO $30. COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 3-1. COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD <br />OPPOSED. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 13- <br />30 APPROVING THE AMENDMENTS TO THE FEE SCHEDULE AS <br />ADOPTED BY CITY ORDINANCE. MAYOR ADAMS SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br />6.1 Planninq Commission Report <br />Report given by Justin Burslie. <br />6.2. Ordinance Amendment — Land Use Violation <br />Justin Burslie explained that the Planning Commission held a public <br />hearing to consider an ordinance to identify a penalty for land use <br />violations. The Planning Commission is recommending adoption of the <br />ordinance. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO ADOPT ORDINANCE 13-08 <br />AMENDING CHAPTER 17 OF THE CITY CODE REGARDING <br />PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION OF ORDINANCE. COUNCIL MEMBER <br />PEDERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br />Council Member Akerson stated that he has heard comments regarding <br />the City's sign ordinance and suggested that it may be time to relook at <br />the City's comprehensive plan. The Council noted that the Comp plan has <br />just been renewed and approved this year. <br />7. Fire <br />Fire report received by Council. <br />8. Police <br />8.1. Police Contract, Jenkins Township <br />COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 13- <br />31 APPROVING THE LAW ENFORCEMENT CONTRACT AND JOINT <br />POWERS AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES <br />AND JENKINS TOWNSHIP. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br />
