This proposal is based upon <br /> our meeting on May 11, 2007 with Mike Loven and Nancy Adams to discuss their expectations <br /> for the project and to gain an understanding of the existing building. From our discussions it <br /> appears that the City is presented with an exciting opportunity to further enhance what the <br /> library offers to the community while also gaining additional office area for other city functions <br /> without increasing the footprint of the building. <br /> Based on our site visit, the following is a brief summary of the scope as we understand it: <br /> 1. The existing storage room located between the city hall offices and the garage area will <br /> be remodeled. The area is approximately 2,000 sq. ft. in size. <br /> 2. The existing library will be expanded into the existing storage room to gain additional <br /> stack and reading areas. A workroom will be constructed off of the back of the stack <br /> area and include an exterior windows for natural light. The workroom will include open <br /> storage shelves and possibly a sink if it is feasible with the sanitary system. These <br /> spaces will receive carpeting and new finishes. <br /> 3. A new storage room will be constructed on the first floor to provide file storage for the <br /> city clerk. The room will be accessible from the city hall side. <br /> 4. A second floor will be constructed to allow for the expansion of city functions on the <br /> upper floor. <br /> 5. The existing space currently has three separate stairs leading to the first floor. These <br /> three stairs will be combined into a single stairwell, accessed by a hallway. <br /> 6. Heating, ventilation and air conditioning will be provided by two new furnaces to be <br /> located in a small mechanical room off of the workroom.
