They like their narrow roads. <br /> John Derksen,Ash Street, stated this area should be Urban Residential. He explained <br /> that the map wasn't what he had agreed on. There were statements from the Planning <br /> Commission that there had not been any agreement. <br /> Mr. Williams stated that there are certain criteria listed in the Ordinance that should be <br /> considered when amending the zoning map. He went through the 16 items, A—P,to see <br /> if they were more suited to either Urban Residential or Downtown Mixed Use. <br /> A motion was made by John Derksen, seconded by Roger Varilek, to recommend <br /> rezoning this entire area Urban Residential, based on the following Findings of Fact: <br /> 1. Present ownership is long established and has a character consistent with Urban <br /> Residential zoning. <br /> 2. The road is suited to an Urban Residential zoning. <br /> 3. The neighborhood has historically been residential and is more consistent with <br /> Urban Residential zoning. <br /> 4. The subject property meets the intent of the Urban Residential zone. <br /> 5. Rezoning all of the properties to Urban Residential is a viable option as this area <br /> meets the compatibility requirements for that zoning classification, being adjacent <br /> to the Downtown Mixed Use zone, Shoreline Residential zone to the northwest, <br /> and Commercial to the north. <br /> Mr. Derksen withdrew his motion when a possible conflict of interest was pointed out. <br /> Mr. Varilek withdrew his second. <br /> A motion was made by Roger Varilek, seconded by Dean Williams,to recommend <br /> rezoning these parcels to Urban Residential, based on the following Findings of Fact: <br /> 1.
