Mn/DOT <br /> has visibility guidelines for signs and businesses. Southbound traffic meets <br /> guidelines,while northbound traffic just needs a couple short viewing window areas. <br /> We only considered removal in the tree area along your parcel frontage; the trees in <br /> front of the lot south of you must remain. Following is what we'll allow: <br /> - We marked(with pink spray paint dots) 26 red and white pine trees that you may <br /> remove,without compensation to the state. These trees are either standing dead <br /> or smaller 4"—5"diameter trees that are OK to remove. <br /> - We will allow the remaining pines to be limbed up to 10 feet above ground. <br /> - We will allow two areas of the cedar trees to be removed(150 foot and 75 foot <br /> lengths), and require two areas to remain(150 foot and 155 foot lengths). See <br /> the attached memo. These removed cedars will cost you $1,800 in damages. <br /> If you wish to proceed with this removal please send me a check for$1,800,made <br /> payable to the Commissioner of Transportation. You have already given me a filled <br /> out Miscellaneous Work on Highway R/W permit form. The issued permit will have <br /> all tree removal and disposal requirements included with it. No work can happen till <br /> you have the approved permit, and I will want to meet you onsite again prior to work <br /> starting to mark the cedar areas and ensure we're clear on the allowed work.
