Industrial zone ordinance amendments:
The Economic Development Committee (EDC) looked at expansion of the Industrial
Park or to make better use of the existing park. A lot of space underutilized. There are
mixed uses in the park. The current Ordinance is an impediment to make that happen.
Staff recommends these items be adjusted to allow increased use of the existing lots. The
EDC reviewed this last Tuesday and recommend these changes, as well as the prior
language for screening and landscaping. The Business Survey indicated that the Park
looked better with the landscaping standard. This could be brought back next month for a
public hearing.
Can existing Water/Wastewater handle this increased usage? There is plenty of capacity.
The Park has all new large pipe sizing. The City Engineer had questioned new service
connections. $10,000—$15,000 to add new connections to lines in the street. That
would be an added expense for new lots. The EDC discussed ways to streamline this so
the subdivision would be more feasible.
Minutes 3
Pequot Lakes Planning Commission
June 19, 2008
