� <br />City Council Minutes <br />August 7, 2012 <br />Page 5 of 8 <br />Council Member Akerson stated that he requested this item to be on the <br />agenda. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO ADVERTISE FOR POLICE <br />SERGEANT. COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />The Mayor questioned how the City could pay for a Sergeant. Council <br />Member Ryan stated that he supports the motion. He noted that finro years <br />ago the Council agreed that there should be a specific structure in place <br />consisting of a Police Chief, a Sergeant and three Police Officers with <br />support by part time officers. He stated that the Council decided to give <br />the Police Chief about six months to make a recommendation to the <br />Council. He further stated that it has been over a year and he does not <br />understand the delay to get the structure in place. <br />MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br />8.3. Pavment of Invoice <br />MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO PAY THE INVOICE TO RAPID APPS FOR <br />THE PURCHASE OF FIVE CUBICLES FOR THE POLICE <br />L DEPARTMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $375.00. COUNCIL MEMBER <br />SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br />9. Public Works <br />Water and Sewer reports received by Council. <br />9.1. Accept Emplovee Resiqnation <br />Mike Loven explained that Kurt Eckardt has submitted a letter of <br />resignation from his position of maintenance worker. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO ACCEPT THE <br />RESIGNATION OF KURT ECKARDT FROM THE STREET <br />MAINTENANCE POSITION. COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN SECONDED <br />THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br />9.2. Advertise for Position of Maintenance Worker <br />Mike Loven requested permission to advertise for the position of <br />Maintenance Worker. <br />� <br />
