It was the Consensus of the Council that <br />it was unfair to place a parking ban on only one street in the City. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO REMOVE THE NO <br />PARKING SIGNS AND THAT PARKING ON THE STREET BE <br />ALLOWED. COUNCIL LMEMBER RYAN SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br />6. Planninq and Zoninq <br />Report received by Council. <br />7. Fire Department Monthlv Report <br />Report received by Council. <br />7.1. Request to qo out for Bids for New Fire Enqine <br />Chief Tom Nelson explained that the Fire Department is requesting to <br />purchase a new fire engine. He explained that the department has an <br />aging fleet of engines and would like to replace oldest engine. He stated <br />�- that a new engine may also lower the ISO rating. Chief Nelson stated that <br />the Fire Board has unanimously approved a motion to recommend that the <br />City proceed with the purchase a new fire engine. Chief Nelson explained <br />that the City has met with USDA representatives and will be eligible for a <br />low interest loan. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE FIRE CHIEF <br />TO GO OUT FOR BIDS FOR A FIRE ENGINE AND BEGIN WORKING <br />WITH USDA FOR FINANCING. AND COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br />8.1. Request to Attend International Chief's Conference <br />Chief Klang requested permission to attend the IACP conference in San <br />Diego. September 29 — Oct 3�d. He stated that the air fare and conference <br />are budgeted. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO APPROVE THE CHIEF'S <br />REQUEST TO ATTEND THE IACP CONFERENCE. COUNCIL MEMBER <br />AKERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br />8.2. Consider Advertisinq for Serqeant's Position <br />� <br />
