COUNCIL MEMBER RYAN SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br />4. Open Forum <br />John Derksen had questions relating to the check register. <br />Ken Meyer, representing the American Legion, indicated that the Legion <br />had requested a sign permit involving a digital sign. He indicated that the <br />Legion has a problem of not being able to move forward with the signage <br />request and asked where the Planning Commission was in relation to the <br />sign ordinance. Council Member Pederson stated that the Planning <br />Commission is working on the sign ordinance with the intention of <br />addressing digital signs and will be attempting to structure the ordinance <br />to allow a case by case review regarding digital sign requests. <br />Brian Noska questioned if Scott Pederson would be allowed to serve on <br />both the Planning Commission and City Council simultaneously. The Clerk <br />noted that Mr. Pederson turned in a resignation from the Planning <br />Commission contingent on his appointment to the Council. <br />� <br />5. Presentations <br />5.1. Crow Winq Countv Transit Presentation — Tom Jav <br />Tom Jay, representing Crow Wing County Transit informed the Council <br />that Crow Wing County Transit has expanded its service area to include <br />Jenkins, Pequot Lakes and Nisswa. <br />5.2. No Parkina on West Siblev Street <br />The City Clerk stated that a parking ban had been placed on West Sibley <br />Street from Highway 371 to Pine Street in 2004. Karen Ettesvold <br />presented a letter signed by several residents requesting the Council to <br />consider lifting the Parking Ban. <br />John Derksen spoke about the issue of busses and emergency vehicles <br />not being able to get through when vehicles were parked on both sides of <br />the street. Karen Ettesvold explained that the only times that people park <br />on both sides of the street is if there is a garage sale. She explained that <br />this is no different than other streets in the City. <br />�.. <br />
