ii. Activities in upland areas of the SIZ. <br /> �., . The following are standards for dirt moving in n the <br /> SIZ: <br /> a. Sand Blanket. The maximum length shall be thirty(30)feet along the shoreline by <br /> not more than fifteen(15)feet back from the OHWL and shall be located within the <br /> view corridor. Additionally,the natural slope of the area under the sand blanket shall <br /> be less than ten(10)percent and the sand shall be clean with minimal amounts of <br /> organic materials. Sand blankets shall be limited to 10 cubic <br /> b. Upland areas. In upland areas,zero(0)to thirty(30)cubic yards of dirt moving <br /> may be permitted.This amount shall include the amount of cubic yards of dirt used <br /> for a sand blanket with review and«° °. da liens e f the SWGD An application <br /> must be accompanied by a site plan and scope of work. A permit for dirt moving <br /> from the Plaming and Zening Offiee Land Services Department is required. <br /> Restoration. Dirt moving for restoration of sites wider than fifteen(15)feet in the <br /> SIZ to a natural state may be allowed. <br /> SAD. Wetland areas of the SIZ. In wetland areas in the SIZ,no impact will <br /> be allowed. <br /> iv. Ice ridges. <br /> a. Annual ice ridges. Alteration of any annual ice ridge as defined by Crow Wing <br /> County requires a permit and inspection from the Land Services Department Seil and <br /> Planning and Zoning Depaftment of at:*,stieh alterations. <br /> �.. <br /> b. Historic ice ridges. There shall be no alteration to a an Historic Ice Ridge,as <br /> defined by the Crew Wing r,,u t.,Seill And-1AT t°«Gees°«.,°t:,.., DistF:°t. Crow Wine <br /> County. However,the property owner may fill landward of the ice ridge,to within <br /> six(6)inches in elevation of the crest,providing the area landward of the ice ridge is <br /> not wetland. This requires with a permit from the Land Services Department. The <br /> area of dirt moving shall be limited to fifteen(15)feet in width as near to <br /> perpendicular to the shoreline as possible within the Shore Impact Zone(SIZ)and in <br /> no case will this exceed any other requirement of the Article. This width restriction <br /> does not apply to sand blankets if dwy are plaeed as adjaeea4 to the shereline as <br /> v. Erosion and storm water control devices.
