Justin Burslie noted that that Planning Commission recommends that the application be approved based on 17 findings of and based on the following condition: • Within three months, the private sewer system on the property shall be inspected and the report filed with the City of Pequot Lakes. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO APPROVE ORDINANCE 14- 05 AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP TO REZONE THE HABEIN PROPERTY (290031202AA0009) FROM FOREST MANAGEMENT TO RURAL RESIDENTIAL BASED ON 17 FINDINGS OF FACT LISTED IN THE COUNCIL REPORT FROM COMMUNITY GROWTH DATED JULY 1, 2014 AND BASED ON THE FOLLOWING CONDITION: • WITHIN THREE MONTHS, THE PRIVATE SEWER SYSTEM ON THE PROPERTY SHALL BE INSPECTED AND THE REPORT FILED WITH THE CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES. COUNCIL MEMBER GARDNER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. 9.2. Street Light Option for North Washington Avenue COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO APPROVE OPTION B FOR THE STREET LIGHT. MAYOR ADAMS SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO APPROVE OPTION A FOR THE STREET LIGHT ARM. COUNCIL MEMBER GARDNER SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. Council Member Pederson questioned whether the Council decided on a height for the sign. The Engineer stated that the bid was approved by the Council with a 20 foot height for the poles. Council Member Pederson questioned the standard height of light poles. The Engineer noted that MnDOT's standard is 30 feet for highways and 20 feet for urban areas. He noted that the sign post could be lower but if banners or flower pots are placed on the pole and they are too low, vandalism could occur. Council Member Gardner suggested that the size of trucks should be considered. He noted that there would be truck deliveries made using Washington Avenue. Council Member Pederson stated that he feels that 20 feet is too high for a pedestrian area. 9.3. Quotes for Electrical System for Street Lights Tim Houle presented the Council with the plans for the electrical system for the street lights on North Washington Avenue. MnDOT has lighting standards.
