Council Member Pederson stated his concern about long-term costs to <br /> maintain the roadways and because of this he is leaning toward not wanting <br /> to accept the roads. <br /> Tim Houle stated that the Committee would like to meet with the Council for <br /> a half of an hour before the January meeting to discuss the turnback <br /> spreadsheet. <br /> MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO CALL A SPECIAL MEETING FOR <br /> JANUARY 7, 2013, AT 6:00 P.M. TO DISCUSS THE COMMENTS FROM <br /> THE HIGHWAY 371 TURNBACK COMMITTEE. COUNCIL MEMBER <br /> PEDERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> 9.3. Engineerinq Proposal for Mapping Sibley Lake Park <br /> The City Clerk stated that the Park Commission is requesting the Council to <br /> authorize the expenditure of funds to create a base map of Sibley Lake <br /> Park. The map will be used for future planning and development of <br /> additional park amenities. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO ACCEPT THE PROPOSAL <br /> FROM WSN FOR MAPPING OF SIBLEY LAKE PARK AT $1,900 TO BE <br /> FUNDED AT $1,600 FROM THE PARK BUDGET AND $300 FROM THE <br /> ROADS AND STREETS BUDGET. COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> 9.4. Sibley Lake Park Update <br /> MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO REMOVE THIS ISSUE FROM THE TABLE. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 4-0. <br /> Mayor Adams reviewed the memo by Council Member Gardner, Park <br /> Commission liaison. She stated that the Park Commission has determined <br /> that Sibley Lake Park is the best location for the dog park as it would <br /> increase usage of the park. The Park Board is recommending switching the <br /> location of the dog park from the south end to the north end of the park. <br /> MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO LOCATE A DOG PARK AT SIBLEY LAKE <br /> PARK AS RECOMMENDED BY THE PARK COMMISSION. COUNCIL <br /> MEMBER PEDERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> Council Member Pederson stated that although he does not feel this is a <br /> good location, he is relying on the Park Board's recommendation and will <br /> vote in favor of the proposal.
