Council Member Pederson stated his concern about long-term costs to maintain the roadways and because of this he is leaning toward not wanting to accept the roads. Tim Houle stated that the Committee would like to meet with the Council for a half of an hour before the January meeting to discuss the turnback spreadsheet. MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO CALL A SPECIAL MEETING FOR JANUARY 7, 2013, AT 6:00 P.M. TO DISCUSS THE COMMENTS FROM THE HIGHWAY 371 TURNBACK COMMITTEE. COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. 9.3. Engineerinq Proposal for Mapping Sibley Lake Park The City Clerk stated that the Park Commission is requesting the Council to authorize the expenditure of funds to create a base map of Sibley Lake Park. The map will be used for future planning and development of additional park amenities. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO ACCEPT THE PROPOSAL FROM WSN FOR MAPPING OF SIBLEY LAKE PARK AT $1,900 TO BE FUNDED AT $1,600 FROM THE PARK BUDGET AND $300 FROM THE ROADS AND STREETS BUDGET. COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. 9.4. Sibley Lake Park Update MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO REMOVE THIS ISSUE FROM THE TABLE. COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. Mayor Adams reviewed the memo by Council Member Gardner, Park Commission liaison. She stated that the Park Commission has determined that Sibley Lake Park is the best location for the dog park as it would increase usage of the park. The Park Board is recommending switching the location of the dog park from the south end to the north end of the park. MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO LOCATE A DOG PARK AT SIBLEY LAKE PARK AS RECOMMENDED BY THE PARK COMMISSION. COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. Council Member Pederson stated that although he does not feel this is a good location, he is relying on the Park Board's recommendation and will vote in favor of the proposal.
