of Pfeiffer Pharmacy. Out of the north side door and south street door of the
`.- building south of Pippy Hippy, we will probably need to do ramps parallel with the
sidewalk to get those to meet Americans with Disabilities (ADA) standards. We
will need an ADA compliant pedestrian ramp on the north side of Butler.
The County is taking care of the pedestrian ramps on the north and south side of
Main Street (CSAH 11).
Befinreen Main (CSAH 11) and Oriole, the City wants to remove the existing curb
and gutter and existing sidewalk (most of the C&G is in rough shape and while
there are some good sidewalk panels, we agreed that a wholesale removal and
replacement would be the best way to start). We may need to have just a little
pavement removal and replacement out from the curb and gutter replacement to
match elevations. We will need an ADA compliant pedestrian ramp on the south
side of Oriole.
The City wants to look at paving shoulders / parallel parking lanes on the north
and south side of Oriole about 140 feet back to the east (basically alongside the
side lot lines of the two lots fronting on Government Drive). On the south side, it
would basically consist of paving the space between an existing concrete
sidewalk next to the building (to remain) and the existing south edge of Oriole
Street pavement. It looks uncertain that we will be able to do a whole lot with the
drainage in this area. On the north side, it will be about 10 feet of new pavement
`. to allow some parallel parking right off the north edge of the existing pavement.
With the terrain north side of Oriole Street generally sloping to the north, we may
need to put curb and gutter along here and try and get it to slope back towards
Government Drive.
Between Oriole and Sibley, in front of Boardwalk Scoops and the building just to
its north, the City wants to put in new curb and gutter and new sidewalk to
basically extend the location and width from what is in the Main to Oriole block to
the south (there is no curb and gutter or sidewalk along this stretch). We may
need to go out into the existing pavement and remove and replace bituminous
pavement to match into the new curb and gutter elevations. It looks like the south
end of the Boardwalk Scoops fence is on R/W and will have to be relocated. We
will need an ADA compliant pedestrian ramp on the north side of Oriole.
Between Oriole and Sibley, in front of the Pequot Fire Hall Center set of
businesses, there is — for the most part — an existing sidewalk that looks to be
just outside the R/W on private property. There is no curb and gutter in this
stretch. The City wants to keep the existing private sidewalk and extend out new
sidewalk and put in new curb and gutter basically in line of an extension of the
location and width from the Main to Oriole block to the south. We may need to
have just a little pavement removal and replacement out from the new curb and
gutter to match elevations. We will also have to push the west edge of the
proposed 60 feet width of pavement (20 feet to the face of curb for diagonal
