City of
Pequot
Lakes -
Date:
AGENDA ITEM #10.1.
REPORT TO
CITY COUNCIL
May 1, 2012
Subiect: Government Drive
Report: The following information was drafted by Tim
Houle:
At the April City Council meeting, the Council authorized us to look into possibly
adding some work to the 2012 Government Drive Rehabilitation project.
I met with Council Member Dave Sjoblad and Mike Loven this last Monday, April
23 and we discussed and walked Government Drive.
We discussed removing and replacing any existing concrete curb and gutter and
concrete sidewalk and adding concrete curb and gutter and concrete sidewalk on
the east side of Government Drive for the three blocks between Butler Street and
Sibley Street. In places, there would need to be some pavement removal and
replacement to get elevations to work out.
Following is our understanding on a block-by-block basis:
Between Butler and Main (CSAH 11), the City wants to remove the existing
sidewalk (there really is not any existing curb and gutter) and put in new curb and
gutter and new sidewalk. We may need to go out into the existing pavement and
remove and replace bituminous pavement to match into the new curb and gutter
elevations. The new curb and gutter location, and the replacement / new
sidewalk width would match what is in front of Pfeiffer Pharmacy. There will have
to be landscaping removal and wider sidewalk in front of Complete Title / Gagne,
in front of the building south of Pippy Hippy, and next to the vacant parcel south
