MOTION CARRIED 5- <br />0. <br />10. Citv Enaineer Report <br />10.1. Government Drive <br />Tim Houle reviewed some options for additional work on the Government <br />Drive project. He reviewed the additional work which is mainly concrete <br />curb, gutter, and sidewalk replacement. The improvements would have to <br />comply with the ADA requirements. Mr. Houle indicated that if the Council <br />wants to move forward with the proposed improvements, the City will need <br />a legal opinion from the City Attorney regarding the changes in the specs <br />after the bidding process. Tim Houle explained that an estimate of the <br />work to be perFormed is $75,000 with engineering costs to perform the <br />services at approximately $15,500. <br />MAYOR ADAMS MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE ENGINEERS TO BEGIN <br />WORK ON THE ADDITIONAL IMPROVEMENTS TO THE <br />GOVERNMENT DRIVE PROJECT AND TO GET AN OPINION FROM <br />�-- THE CITY ATTORNEY ON WHETHER TO PROCEED WITH A CHANGE <br />ORDER OR TO REBID THE PROJECT. COUNCIL MEMBER MALECHA <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />Council Member Sjoblad stated that the sidewalks are narrow and will be <br />narrower when a car pulls up to the sidewalk. He further stated that the <br />proposed project is replacing what already exists. He stated that he was <br />against the smaller version of the Government Drive project. He <br />questioned whether the Council should consider a larger project. <br />Council Member Ryan questioned whether there were higher priorities <br />such as putting sidewalks where there currently are no sidewalks. Mike <br />Loven noted that there are other spots in the City that have been identified <br />as priorities. He further noted that there will be funds remaining to address <br />some of the other priorities. <br />MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br />11. Clerk's Report <br />Report accepted by Council. <br />� 11.1.
