PEQUOT LAKES PARK COMMISSION <br />� THURSDAY, MARCH 8, 2012 <br />CITY HALL <br />Members Present: Commissioners Jeff Bruch, Dena Doughty, and Chair Pete <br />Clement, and Karen Ettesvold <br />Members Absent: Commissioner Faye Tweed <br />Also Present: Sandy Peine, City Clerk; Mike Loven, Public Works <br />Supervisor; and Council Member Cathy Malecha <br />Call Meetinq to Order <br />The meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m. by Chair Clement. <br />2. 2/9/2012 Park Commission Minutes <br />COMMISSIONER DOUGHTY MOVED TO APPROVE THE 2%9/12 PARK <br />COMMISSION MINUTES. COMMISSIONER ETTESVOLD SECONDED <br />THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br />3. Review Mission Statement <br />� The Commissioner's reviewed the Park Mission Statement that was <br />drafted by the,Commission last month. Chair Clement stated that he would <br />present the,Mission Statement to the Council in April. <br />L <br />4. Banners Located:bv Band Shell - Flaqs <br />Discussion was held regarding a flag design for the City of Pequot Lakes. <br />Cathy Malecha stated that Sibley Township had a City flag that could be <br />used as a Pequot Lakes cify flag. The Park Commission indicated that the <br />flag should have a bobber on it. It was the consensus to bring some <br />samples of City flags to the next Park Commission meeting. <br />The Park Gommission reviewed the existing sign ordinance for temporary <br />signs. Discussion was held regarding the limitations that the ordinance <br />presents for the Bands in the Park program. The Clerk informed the <br />Commission that the Planning Commission is in the beginning stages of <br />reviewing the entire sign ordinance. The Park Commission consented to <br />send their concern regarding the restrictive sign ordinance for temporary <br />signs, specifically to those temporary signs that promote the community. It <br />was the consensus of the Commission to request the Planning <br />Commission to consider no restrictions to temporary signs that promote <br />the community. <br />5.
