PEQUOT LAKES PARK COMMISSION � THURSDAY, MARCH 8, 2012 CITY HALL Members Present: Commissioners Jeff Bruch, Dena Doughty, and Chair Pete Clement, and Karen Ettesvold Members Absent: Commissioner Faye Tweed Also Present: Sandy Peine, City Clerk; Mike Loven, Public Works Supervisor; and Council Member Cathy Malecha Call Meetinq to Order The meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m. by Chair Clement. 2. 2/9/2012 Park Commission Minutes COMMISSIONER DOUGHTY MOVED TO APPROVE THE 2%9/12 PARK COMMISSION MINUTES. COMMISSIONER ETTESVOLD SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. 3. Review Mission Statement � The Commissioner's reviewed the Park Mission Statement that was drafted by the,Commission last month. Chair Clement stated that he would present the,Mission Statement to the Council in April. L 4. Banners Located:bv Band Shell - Flaqs Discussion was held regarding a flag design for the City of Pequot Lakes. Cathy Malecha stated that Sibley Township had a City flag that could be used as a Pequot Lakes cify flag. The Park Commission indicated that the flag should have a bobber on it. It was the consensus to bring some samples of City flags to the next Park Commission meeting. The Park Gommission reviewed the existing sign ordinance for temporary signs. Discussion was held regarding the limitations that the ordinance presents for the Bands in the Park program. The Clerk informed the Commission that the Planning Commission is in the beginning stages of reviewing the entire sign ordinance. The Park Commission consented to send their concern regarding the restrictive sign ordinance for temporary signs, specifically to those temporary signs that promote the community. It was the consensus of the Commission to request the Planning Commission to consider no restrictions to temporary signs that promote the community. 5. Master Park Plan Discussion: Breezv Point Plan
