MOTION CARRIED 3- <br />0. <br />6.2. Comprehensive Plan Update <br />Update provided by Planning Commission Chair Scott Pederson. Chair <br />Pederson stated that the Planning Commission has been working at <br />answering Council Members Ryan and Akerson's concerns on the Comp <br />Plan. He stated that the Planning Commission would like to bring this back <br />to the Council for consideration soon. He requested any additional <br />comments from the Council to be given to the Planning Commission. <br />Council Member Akerson stated that there was a committee that was <br />going to meet with Council Member Ryan regarding his concerns, but this <br />did not happen. Chuck Marohn suggested that City staff coordinate a <br />committee to meet with Council members Ryan and Akerson to discuss <br />their concerns. The Mayor agreed that staff would coordinate a meeting <br />with Council Members Ryan and Akerson and finro Planning Commission <br />members along with one staff support person to discuss their concerns on <br />the Comp Plan. <br />6.3. Siqn Ordinance Discussion <br />Council Member Akerson stated the following: <br />"I have long been concerned about the City's regulations regarding signs, <br />specifically as those regulations may confuse drivers, create hazardous <br />conditions, force property owners to make expensive changes to their <br />signs and overly restrict the rights of property owners. The Planning <br />Commission is currently considering an application requesting changes to <br />the City's sign regulations. This is an excellent opportunity to address my <br />concerns and the concerns of many property owners, business owners <br />and voters in Pequot Lakes." <br />COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL <br />CALLS ON THE PLANNING COMMISSION TO UNDERTAKE THE <br />FO�LOWING: <br />1. AT THE REGULAR MARCH PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING, <br />MAKE A FORMAL RECOMMENDATION TO THE CITY COUNCIL <br />REGARDING THE PENDING APPLICATION ON DIGITAL GAS PRICE <br />DISPLAYS. THE NARROW ISSUE UNDER CONSIDERATION IN THIS <br />APPLICATION SHOULD BE ACTED ON IN MARCH AND NOT TABLED <br />TO A SUBSEQUENT MEETING. THE CITY COUNCIL WILL THEN BE <br />
