SMITH <br /> City of Pequot Lakes <br /> Page 2 NOLTING <br /> Erosion control devices (e.g. bio-rolls) will be installed to assist in re-establishing vegetation in <br /> areas alongside the new pavement that are disturbed by construction. <br /> So you are aware, there will be several challenges on this project. As indicated, no new curb <br /> and gutter is anticipated. Drainage off the edge of pavement will continue to occur. On downhill <br /> segments of the roadway, it will be challenging to perfectly replicate previous drainage patterns. <br /> Also, right after construction, it will be challenging to eliminate all erosion. It might take a little <br /> time, but generally, these issues are greatly minimized or eliminated once vegetation is fully <br /> restored. <br /> We understand that the abutting private property owners will not be specially assessed for these <br /> improvements, and the City will use general tax levy funds to pay for these improvements. <br /> WSN Scope of Work <br /> For the above improvements, following is our corresponding scope of services. <br /> 1. Conduct office research, and locate horizontal and vertical survey control. <br /> 2. Make a Gopher State One Call and preferably obtain field information from utilities. <br /> Sometimes they do not provide field locates, and if this is the case, we will have to obtain <br /> design maps from them. <br /> 3. Field survey all underground and above ground features within the area of anticipated <br /> improvements. <br /> 4. Where obvious, our surveyors will pick up property monuments. <br /> Note that from a very preliminary review of the County GIS mapping, it appears the existing <br /> roadway is outside the platted R/W (this review is not the same as field located corners and <br /> lines). However, the City has prescriptive easement rights to the existing roadway, so we do <br /> not envision any R/W work or adjustments. <br /> We also anticipate the new infiltration basin will fit within the existing Ramsey Street platted <br /> R/W between Pequot Boulevard and Sibley Lake. <br /> If any of the above is not the case, we will review any needed additional scope with the City. <br /> 5. Calculate the volume from the City street improvements that may reach the Ramsey Street <br /> infiltration basin for both a 2-year and 5-year recurrence interval (this includes areas to the <br /> south and east of this intersection). <br /> 6. Lay out a preliminary infiltration basin and determine what volume can be captured at this <br /> location while staying within the Ramsey Street R/W. <br /> 7.
