City Council Minutes <br /> June 2, 2015 <br /> Page 4 of 7 <br /> MAYOR SJOBLAD MOVED TO ACCEPT THE OFFER FROM THE <br /> COUNTY OF AN ADDITIONAL $100,000 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION <br /> OF AN ADDITIONAL BLOCK ON C.R. 112 AND REDUCING THE <br /> CITY'S COST SHARE OBLIGATION FOR THE INTERCHANGE FROM <br /> 9% TO 6%. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> Tim Houle reminded the Council that the numbers the City is looking at <br /> are estimates and the cost to maintain the roads are also estimates. Tim <br /> Houle also stated that it is the Council's decision on how to spend the <br /> money as the County will be making no demands on how it is spent. Mike <br /> Loven stated that the proposal should work for the City as long as future <br /> Councils use the funds as intended. <br /> Tim Houle stated that the main issues with taking the roads from the <br /> County are maintenance, money and environmental. The Council <br /> discussed the issue of the City receiving assurance from the State and <br /> County that there are no environmental issues with the roads. Mike Loven <br /> reminded the Council that the City is also getting an additional 3 miles <br /> directly from MnDOT. <br /> MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> 9.2. Call Special Meeting for Highway 371 Discussions <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED CALL A SPECIAL MEETING <br /> OF THE CITY COUNCIL TO REVIEW VARIOUS AGREEMENTS FROM <br /> MnDOT RELATING TO THE HIGHWAY 371 PROJECT FOR JUNE 16, <br /> AT 6:00 P.M. COUNCIL MEMBER LOUKOTA SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0 . <br /> 9.3. Sibley Lake Park Steps <br /> Mike Loven stated that the Park Commission is recommending that the <br /> Council authorize the Commission to begin working on a plan to remove <br /> the steps at Sibley Lake Park and re-vegetate the area. He noted that the <br /> Sibley Lake Association will be searching for a grant for the project, but <br /> before they can apply for a grant, they need a plan. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE PARK <br /> COMMISSION TO DEVELOP A PLAN TO REMOVE THE STEPS AT <br /> SIBLEY LAKE PARK, RE-VEGETATE THE AREA AND WORK WITH <br /> THE LAKE ASSOCIATION ON POSSIBLE FUNDING FOR THE <br /> PROJECT THROUGH A GRANT. COUNCIL MEMBER LOUKOTA <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />
