City Council Minutes <br />February 5, 2024 <br />Page 6 of 11 <br />----------------------------- <br /> <br /> <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RONNING MOVES TO AMEND THE FEE SCHEDULE <br />AND INCREASE THE FEE FOR FINGERPRINTING FROM $10 TO $20. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER LARSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED <br />5-0. <br /> <br />8.4 Trade of Rifles <br /> <br /> Chief Davis is requesting Council approval of trading five old rifles in exchange <br />for ammunition and magazines for our current pistols and rifles. Mayor Gardner <br />asks whether Chief Davis has someone in mind that is willing to do a trade like <br />that. Chief Davis states he has been. He has also contacted three other people <br />to get an idea of what the rifles would be worth. <br /> <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER LARSON MOVES TO APPROVE THE TRADE OF <br />RIFLES IN EXCHANGE FOR AMMUNITION AND MAGAZINES. COUNCIL <br />MEMBER CLEMENT SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> <br /> Council Member Ronning asks about how much we would be getting for the <br />value of the rifles. Chief Davis states around $325-$350 per rifle. <br /> <br />MOTION CARRIES 5-0. <br /> <br />8.5 Officer Recognition <br /> <br /> Chief Davis updates on a medical call that Officer Johnson responded to. He <br />states it turned into nothing more than a lift assist. Days later the victim’s <br />husband called to have Officer Johnson stop by the house and in turn presented <br />him with a pie. Chief Davis wanted to share the story because we really do have <br />a great community and great team. <br /> <br />8.6 Squad Car Update <br /> <br /> A verbal update is given to Council Members stating we had an officer get into an <br />accident a little while back and ultimately totaled a squad. He says they are <br />working with the insurance adjusters on getting numbers together and an <br />amount. <br /> <br />8.7 Union Contracts <br /> <br /> LELS Union Contracts provided. <br /> <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER CLEMENT MOVES TO APPROVE THE POLICE <br />OFFICER LABOR AGREEMENT WITH LELS. COUNCIL MEMBER LARSON <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> <br /> Discussion is had regarding an error on dates. We will get those dates updated <br />to reflect. For the most part not much had changed on the contract from previous <br />years.
