City Council Minutes
February 5, 2024
-----------------------------

6.1 Zoning Administrator’s Monthly Report

Zoning Administrator Traci Pederson says it has been a busy start and she is
anticipating a very busy season ahead with building and permitting.

Ms. Pederson says she has been doing follow-up on violations as well as
sending out some letters that have been received well. That property owner got
everything cleaned up so in response she mailed a thank you letter. Mayor
Gardner acknowledges her efforts in sending a thank you letter to the property
owner and how positive that is. Council Member Ronning adds there are so
many great ideas that have been brought up and many of those great ideas
come from new staff being involved.

Council Member Pederson brings to attention the new contact person for our City
at Sourcewell. Justin is working with our new contact person, Thomas Roloff, to
get everyone up to speed.

6.2 Ordinance Amendment 24-01

Ms. Pederson states this is identical to what had happened in the past. What
happened was the notification in the paper did not happen. So it is exactly the
same but all of the appropriate steps have been taken to get the amendment
completed appropriately.

It is said that we will work on getting the rebranding completed before completing
the billboard so that it is an image that can be used repeatedly.

COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON MOVES TO APPROVE THE ORDINANCE
AMENDMENT 24-01. COUNCIL MEMBER CLEMENT SECONDED THE
MOTION. MOTION CARRIES 5-0.

COUNCIL MEMBER LARSON MOVES TO APPROVE THE SUMMARY
PUBLICATION FOR ORDINANCE AMENDMENT 24-01. COUNCIL MEMBER
RONNING SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIES 5-0.

6.3 Rezone Ordinance Amendment 23-84

Ms. Pederson advises that this is a basic rezone request. The request is to
rezone from agriculture to forest management. It does fit within the size and lot
dimensions and there should be no issues with the rezone.

COUNCIL MEMBER CLEMENT MOVES TO APPROVE REZONE ORDINANCE
AMENDMENT 23-84, PROPERTY 32250 ROLLING MEADOWS LANE, FROM
AGRICULTURE TO FOREST MANAGEMENT. COUNCIL MEMBER LARSON
SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIES 5-0.
