Employees may not use City -issued weapons, equipment, or uniforms in outside <br />employment. <br />ARTICLE 18 <br />DRUG AND ALCOHOL TESTING AND FITNESS FOR DUTY <br />18.1 Members of the bargaining unit shall be subject to drug and alcohol testing in accordance with the <br />City of Pequot Lakes Policy on Controlled Substance and Alcohol Testing. All testing for alcohol <br />shall be through blood testing; the only exception being that an employee may consent in writing <br />to an initial breath alcohol test provided any positive test must be confirmed through blood testing <br />and provided further the employee must sign a release approved by the Union and the Employer <br />prior to any breath test. If the employee chooses to not sign a release, no adverse employment <br />action will be taken against the employee solely due to the refusal to sign the release. However, if <br />the employee refuses blood testing the refusal shall constitute a positive test result. <br />18.2 If an employee cannot fulfill the duties of their job, the Police Chief may; require a member of <br />the bargaining unit to submit to a fitness for duty exam in the case of a serious physical condition, <br />mental health condition, or long-term disability. <br />ARTICLE 19 <br />SAFETY <br />19.1 Employees are required to: <br />a. Fully comply with the Safety Program as administered by the Safety Committee. <br />b. Immediately report to their supervisor all unsafe equipment, practices or procedures that pose <br />a threat to the safety of employees or others. <br />c. Cooperate with and assist in the investigation of accidents to identify the causes and to <br />prevent recurrence. <br />d. Observe and promote safe work habits. <br />e. Report injuries to supervisor, immediately. <br />Employees who do not follow and abide by the Employer's Safety Program will be subject to <br />discipline in accordance with Article 7. <br />ARTICLE 20 <br />WAGES, SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL <br />20.1 Employees shall be paid in accordance with Appendix "A" attached hereto and made a part of this <br />Agreement. <br />17 <br />
