12.4 Vacation leave may be used subject to approval of the Police Chief or designee. Employees shall <br />provide written notice of requests for vacation leave of at least five (5) days at a time, with at <br />least two (2) weeks advance notice given to the Police Chief or designee unless the Police Chief <br />or designee approves a lesser period of notice. In the case of conflict as to requests for vacation <br />time off, the request of the senior employee shall have priority. Once the vacation requests have <br />been approved, an employee may not use seniority to bump the approved vacation of a less senior <br />employee. <br />12.5 Vacation may be taken in one (1) hour minimum increments provided requests for any such <br />partial vacation are made in advance and approved by the Police Chief or designee. <br />ARTICLE 13 <br />UNIFORM / EQUIPMENT ALLOWANCE <br />13.1 The Employer will pay a maximum uniform expense reimbursement of six hundred seventy-five <br />dollars ($675.00) per year. be..:,,.,ing /' 2016. The Employer shall require that uniforms for <br />which reimbursement is claimed to be approve in advance by the Police Chief or Police Sergeant, <br />be purchased through the Department, and invoiced by the vendor to the Department. Should any <br />employee not utilize all of their yearly uniform allowance, the Employer shall carry over any <br />remaining amount into the next calendar year. All unused allowance amounts shall not exceed the <br />maximum of five hundred dollars ($500.00) total. <br />13.2 The uniform allowance is to be used for the following articles with prior approval of the Police <br />Chief or Police Sergeant: <br />1) Jacket/Coats (winter/summer) <br />2) Shirts, Turtlenecks or Mock Turtlenecks <br />3) Pants <br />4) Garrison Belt and Accessories (batons, flashlights, etc.) <br />5) Boots and or Shoes <br />6) Neckties <br />7) Hats/caps <br />8) Miscellaneous Other Articles with Prior Written Approval of the Police Chief or Police <br />Sergeant. <br />In order to be eligible for reimbursement, a uniform expense reimbursement request must be <br />received prior to December 1 st of the calendar year. <br />12 <br />
