COMMISSIONER GIBBONS SECONDED <br />THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />5. Trailside Park <br /> <br />Cedar trees <br />Mike Loven noted that the deer have eaten the cedar trees from the <br />bottom up. It was the consensus of the Commission to trim the limbs up <br />from where the deer have been eating. <br /> <br />Gardens <br />Discussion was held regarding the flower garden located by the highway <br />on the south side of the park. It was noted that although the Tree House <br />Nursery planted new plants in the garden last year, the garden is too large <br />to take care of and there is no water near the garden. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER BRUCH MOVED TO ELIMINATE THE GARDEN AND <br />SALVAGE WHATEVER PLANTS CAN BE SALVAGED AND TO FILL <br />THE GARDEN AREA WITH GRASS. COMMISSIONER ETTESVOLD <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />Barrels (flowers) Cost to purchase - $543.76 <br />The Clerk informed the Commissioners that the City purchased flowers to <br />be placed in the flower barrels. The cost of the flowers was $543.76. She <br />stated that a donation of $250 has been made to offset the price of the <br />flowers. The Clerk stated that students will plant the flowers and business <br />owners have committed to taking care of the planters. <br /> <br /> Split Rail Fence <br /> Discussion was held regarding the fence and whether or not it should be <br /> removed. <br /> <br /> COMMISSIONER BRUCH MOVED TO REMOVE THE SPLIT RAIL <br />FENCE ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE PARK ALONG THE PARK AND <br />GOVERNMENT DRIVE. COMMISSIONER ETTESVOLD SECONDED <br />THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br /> Bike Racks <br /> <br />Discussion was held regarding where the bike racks should be located. It <br />was the consensus of the Commissioners to locate the bike racks by the <br />two crosswalks. It was also the consensus that an oval pad of asphalt or <br />concrete be made for the bike racks. <br /> <br />6. Sibley Lake Park – Park Tour Update
