<br />PEQUOT LAKES PARK COMMISSION <br />THURSDAY, MAY 9, 2013 <br />CITY HALL <br /> <br /> <br />Members Present: Chair Malecha, and Commissioners Bruch, Ettesvold, and <br />Gibbons <br /> <br />Members Absent: Commissioner Nagel <br /> <br />Also Present: Sandy Peine, City Clerk; Mike Loven, Public Works <br />Supervisor; and Tyler Gardner, Council Member <br /> <br />1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> <br /> Chair Malecha called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. <br /> <br />2. Consider Agenda <br /> <br /> The following items were added to the agenda: <br />• Trailside Park – Fence and Bike Racks <br />• Other Business – Splash Park <br /> <br /> COMMISSIONER BRUCH MOVED TO APPROVE THE AGENDA AS <br />AMENDED. COMMISSIONER GIBBONS SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />3. Park Commission Minutes <br /> <br /> COMMISSIONER GIBBONS MOVED TO APPROVE THE 4/11/2013 <br />PARK COMMISSION MINUTES. COMMISSIONER BRUCH SECONDED <br />THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />4. Mayo Lake Nature Preserve <br /> <br /> Trail Locations: <br /> <br /> Mike Loven explained that he and the Mayor met with the DNR to draw up <br />a Forest Management Plan for Mayo Lake Park Preserve. He stated that <br />the plan will have to be approved by the Minnesota Land Trust. <br /> <br /> Parking lot location and size – when to visit <br /> The Commission decided to tour the location to help in making a decision <br />where the parking lot should be located. <br /> <br /> Wood sign – parking lot <br /> The Commission discussed putting up a wooden sign similar to the signs <br />located at other City Parks. The sign would state the park name. It was the <br />decision of the Commission not to up a wooden sign at this time as there <br />are already going to be signs located in the park stating the park name.
