Park Board Minutes <br />May 9, 2013 <br />Page 3 <br />------------------------- <br /> <br /> <br /> Play ground equipment <br />• It was the consensus of the Commissioners to clean up the existing <br />playground equipment and repair the slide. <br /> <br /> Steps <br /> <br /> Mark Jurchen was present representing the Sibley Lake Association. He <br />explained that the Association is concerned about having a quality park <br />and noted that they are willing to look at some major funding for the park. <br />Mr. Jurchen noted that the Sibley Lake Association has already approved <br />$3,000 to repair the bottom steps and may be willing to contribute more for <br />a major repair of the steps. Mr. Jurchen noted that the Association is not in <br />favor of selling the park. <br /> <br />It was noted that a rough estimate to replace the steps is anywhere from <br />$52,000 to $92,000 depending on the type of steps. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER ETTESVOLD MOVED TO GET AN ESTIMATE TO <br />REPLACE THE BOTTOM OF THE STEPS. COMMISSIONER GIBBONS <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> <br />Mark Jurchen indicated he would get the estimate to replace the steps. <br /> <br />Discussion was held regarding the amount of vandalism that has taken <br />place at the park. It was the consensus that security cameras should be <br />placed at the park. <br /> <br />It was the consensus of the Commission to begin research for possible <br />grants to replace the Sibley Lake steps. Mark Jurchen and Sandy Peine <br />will research. <br /> <br />Sell the Park <br />It was the consensus of the Park Commission that they are not in favor of <br />selling the park at this. <br /> <br />Develop the Park <br />It was the consensus of the Park Commission that development of the <br />park is not an option they want to consider. <br /> <br />Light Posts <br />Mike will research costs and present at the June Park Commission <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Switch-Back <br />Mike Loven’s department will complete this item. <br />
