City Council Minutes December 2, 2014 Page 8 of 10 Mike Loven requested authorization to purchase a 2015 Ford F350 truck from Mills Ford at a cost of$25,300 with the funds to be paid from the Roads and Streets capital outlay budget. He stated that he received two quotes; one from the State bid contractor and one from Mills Ford. Because Mills Ford bid came in $300 higher than the State vendor located in Roseville, MN, he requested the Council to accept the bid from Mills Ford in Baxter. Mike Loven requested authorization to purchase a Hiniker 9 1/2 foot poly V- plow from Meyer Midwest in Brainerd at a cost of$6,850. He requested the Council to waive the two quote requirement. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO AUTHORIZE THE PURCHASE OF A 2015 FORD F350 TRUCK FROM MILLS FORD AT A COST OF $25,300 AND A HINIKER POLY V-PLOW FROM MEYER MIDWEST AT A COST OF $6,850 TO BE PAID FROM THE 2014 ROADS AND STREETS CAPITAL OUTLAY BUDGET AND TO WAIVE THE TWO QUOTE REQUIREMENT FOR THE PLOW PURCHASE. COUNCIL MEMBER GARDNER SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. 10. City Clerk 10.1. Statutory Limit Waiver COUNCIL MEMBER PEDERSON MOVED TO NOT WAIVE THE STATUTORY TORT LIMITS. COUNCIL MEMBER GARDNER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. 10.2. Health Insurance Renewal Rates Nancy Malecha presented the health insurance renewal rates for the union and non-union employees. The non-union employees will see a 0.86% increase and the union employees will see a 10% increase in premiums. 10.3. Council Member Resignation Council Member Gardner stated that he will be regretfully resigning his position on the Council effective December 31, 2014.
