City Council Minutes <br /> December 2, 2014 <br /> Page 7 of 10 <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 9.2. Highway 371 — City Engineer Update <br /> Tim Houle informed the Council that MnDOT will be presenting the City <br /> with new timetables on what the City may or may not need to do regarding <br /> relatively minor adjustments to the Highway 371 layout. Crow Wing <br /> County will meet with the City's Highway 371 committee to talk about <br /> turnbacks. Tim Houle reminded the Council that funding for this project will <br /> be necessary. Council Member Sjoblad stated that he is in contact with <br /> the City's legislators regarding funding. <br /> 9.3.A. North Washington Avenue — Partial Pay Estimate <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO APPROVE PARTIAL <br /> PAYMENT ESTIMATE #4 TO DECHANTAL EXCAVATING FOR WORK <br /> COMPLETED ON THE NORTH WASHINGTON AVENUE <br /> IMPROVEMENT PROJECT IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,281.11. COUNCIL <br /> MEMBER AKERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5- <br /> 0. <br /> 9.3.B. North Washington Avenue— Change Order <br /> Tim Houle stated that the contractor has completed 99% of the work but <br /> there are maintenance items that still need to be done in 2015. The <br /> Contractor, DeChantal, is requesting to change substantial completion <br /> date and final completion date via a change order. The Council discussed <br /> the cost that the City will be covering due to the contract not being <br /> completed on time. Tim Houle stated that the engineering fees are <br /> approximately $17,000 higher than estimated. Council Member Pederson <br /> stated that any incurred costs due to lateness of the contractor should be <br /> the contractor's responsibility. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER GARDNER MOVED TO DENY THE REQUEST <br /> FOR A CHANGE ORDER BY DECHANTAL FOR THE NORTH <br /> WASHINGTON AVENUE PROJECT. COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> The Council noted that there will be unknown costs until the project is <br /> completed. <br /> 9.4. Request to Purchase Truck and Plow <br />
