Story Time and Summer Reading Program Updates: Terri shared with the board that Story <br />Time has continued through March. It has served from one to seven young children each week. <br />Tiny Sprouts has been included. Seasonal illnesses have affected the turnout along with the <br />weather. Additional readers are needed for the program. <br />Summer Reading sessions are scheduled for Tuesday mornings this summer. It will provide <br />greater flexibility for various day cares and other programs. The advertising for the event will <br />include the Community Education Booklet and Calendar, Facebook, the Echo, and the Library <br />website. <br />Terri thanked Linda for the books donated to the Red Shelf Programs. <br />A Legacy Event through Kitchigami is scheduled for June 29th, 2023, featuring the "Jolly Pops <br />Band". <br />The ECFE program continues on Monday with Christina Johnson and Jenn Ranweiler <br />coordinating the sessions at the library. It has been well received. <br />Meeting and Media Room: Mark shared that the room has seen some initial utilization by <br />various organizations such as Community Education, Defensive Driving Course, 4-H, and other <br />clubs. Mark will publicize its availability of the Library Facebook Page. <br />Committee Report on Future Expansion of Library: The report from the committee consisting <br />of Mark Jurchen, Linda Olson, Terri Grimes, and Tom Adams was reviewed with the board. The <br />committee report is included with the copy of the board minutes. Additional input included the <br />utilization of a survey to garner ideas and input from the patrons and community on the <br />expansion as well as services and programs the library may offer. Also, additional groups for <br />coordination were added including, The Pequot Lakes Area Historical Society, Pelican Lakes <br />Conservation Club, Area Churches, and the Nisswa Garden Club. <br />The Meeting was adjourned at approximately 5:25 PM. <br />Mark Jurchen, Chair and Submitter of the Minutes. <br />
