PEQUOT LAKES COMMUNITY LIBRARY <br />VISION FOR VACANT LOT WEST OF LIBRARY <br />On January 31s', Tom Adams, Linda Olson, Terri Grimes, and I met for an initial meeting to begin <br />the visioning and planning stage for the lot west of the library. The purpose of the meeting was <br />to provide an outline for the process and a short list of how to utilize the newly acquired <br />property. <br />Long Term: It was the consensus of the group that the construction of an addition to the library <br />structure would be an extended planning process and would include some of the items listed in <br />Considerations and Concepts outlined in this summary. <br />Short Term: Agreement on the necessity to begin programs designed for outdoor use this <br />summer of the lot should begin. Long term outdoor programs and events will be coordinated <br />with future facility additions to insure long term sustainability. <br />Coordination with other groups: It is the objective of the process to include input from various <br />patrons, volunteers, and organizational partners. <br />1. Master Gardeners <br />2. 4-H Clubs <br />3. Community Education <br />4. ECFE <br />5. Summer Reading Program <br />6. Rotary <br />7. School <br />8. Wonder Trek Children's Museum <br />9. Lions <br />10. Residents and patrons. <br />Groups such as: <br />11. Pequot Lakes Area Historical Society <br />12. Pelican Lake Conservation Club <br />13. Area Churches <br />14. Nisswa Garden Club <br />Means of Gathering Input: To save time and expense, the plan involves reaching as many <br />individuals and groups through email, social media, networks, and outreach. <br />Considerations and concepts discussed at the initial session: <br />1. Parking <br />2. Open Space and additional structure coordinated use. <br />3. Dimensions of building additions <br />4. Designed for multi -use, both outdoors and building facility <br />
