Public Works

9.1. Public Works Report

Mayor Gardner asks about if the Coleman Drive project has been started yet. Mr.
Spiczka states it has been flagged as a potential new route for the road. The goal
is to try to lengthen the run, so it isn’t as steep coming up the hill. But that gives
an untraditional intersection. He states Widseth has staked it, and he has
reached out to the residents in the area for their opinions and they are still
working on different options of how to approach it.

9.2. Front/Main Street Study Scope

Mr. Spiczka states they have a study that was previously approved, but it has not
been put into action yet. Today there will be no request for action. He states
there has been some traction in the planning for the parcels on Highway 371.
There were people that came to the Planning Commission meeting inquiring
about putting four or five commercial lots there. So, Mr. Spiczka is asking Council
how important it is to study that area and how much extra that would cost.

9.3. Billboard Discussion

Mayor Gardner recommends the replacement of the billboard sign due to it being
very worn and faded. States it is a bad look for our city. Replacement of the
billboard sign would make it through the winter. Mr. Spiczka states funding would
need to be approved. Mayor Gardner will move to authorize $1,500 from the
EDC marketing fund.

MAYOR GARDNER MOVED TO APROVE $1,500 FUNDING FOR BILLBOARD
SIGN REPLACEMENT FROM EDC MARKETING ACCOUNT. COUNCIL
MEMBER PEDERSON SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0.

9.4. City Lots for Sale

Council Member Pederson stated the city is not in the real estate business even
though they own lots. He would like to see the lots sold either piece by piece or
get a realtor. Discussion ensued about the builder that was chosen backed out of
the project. Council Member Clement said he thought they agreed to get together
last month to discuss this. Discussion ensued about which way to go with the
lots. The Council would like the Building Committee to meet and bring
recommendations back.

10. Administration

10.1. Administration Report
