He noted that for the short term, the committee is <br /> recommending that the City look at existing vacant lots in the park that are <br /> privately owned. The Committee has discussed the size of existing lots <br /> and fact that many of the lots could be smaller based on existing <br /> businesses in the park. Ed noted that the Planning Commission will be <br /> considering amendments to the City's Ordinance regarding lot size and <br /> regulations in the business park. <br /> Ed stated that the Economic Development Committee is requesting the <br /> Council to authorize them to move forward with the existing business park <br /> study and when the facilities plan is completed the committee will then <br /> work on a plan for a future business park. He noted that in the meantime <br /> the Committee will continue to work on other projects. <br /> Council Member Ryan expressed his concern that expansion of the <br /> wastewater treatment facility should be demand driven. He noted that it is <br /> an expensive proposition to expand industrial park into the irrigation field. <br /> Council Member Nagel indicated he would like to see the Economic <br /> Development Committee explore how to help existing businesses. <br /> 5.2. Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities Presentation <br /> Bradley Peterson from the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities gave a <br /> presentation to the Council explaining the benefits of the organization. He <br /> indicated that the Coalition provides benefits to cities from their work on <br /> LGA, annexation, economic development, environment and transportation. <br /> He requested the City to consider a membership to the organization. <br /> 6. Planning and Zoning Report <br /> Report received by Council. <br /> 6.1. Ordinance Amendment, Definition of Principal Structure, Building <br /> Standards <br /> Chuck Marohn presented the staff report. He noted that there is a minor <br /> modification to the definition of principal structure. He indicated that the <br /> Planning Commission recommended that the actual use of the property be <br /> clarified. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER ORASKOVICH MOVED TO ADOPT ORDINANCE <br /> 08-06, SECOND SERIES, AMENDING CHAPTER 17 RELATING TO <br />
