12.3 An employee may accrue vacation leave, from one calendar year to another, to a <br /> maximum of one hundred twenty (120) hours for regular full-time employees, and <br /> to a prorated maximum for regular part-time employees, so long as such additional <br /> vacation does not interfere with the efficient operation of the Police Department. <br /> The maximum of one hundred twenty (120) hours for regular full-time, and the <br /> prorated maximum for part-time employees, which may be carried over to the next <br /> calendar year, may include any combination of compensatory time and vacation <br /> leave up to a maximum of one hundred twenty (120) hours, subject to a maximum <br /> of eighty (80) hours of compensatory time. <br /> 12.4 Vacation leave may be used subject to approval of the Police Chief or designee. <br /> Employees shall provide written notice of requests for vacation leave of at least <br /> five (5) days at a time, with at least two (2) weeks advance notice given to the <br /> Police Chief or designee unless the Police Chief or designee approves a lesser <br /> period of notice. In the case of conflict as to requests for vacation time off, the <br /> request of the senior employee shall have priority. Once the vacation requests <br /> have been approved, an employee may not use seniority to bump the approved <br /> vacation of a less senior employee. <br /> 12.5 Vacation may be taken in one (1) hour minimum increments provided requests for <br /> any such partial vacation are made in advance and approved by the Police Chief or <br /> designee. <br /> ARTICLE 13 <br /> UNIFORM/EQUIPMENT ALLOWANCE <br /> 13.1 The Employer will pay a maximum uniform expense reimbursement of four <br /> hundred dollars ($400.00)per year ($450 for 2009; $500 for 2010). The Employer <br /> shall require that uniforms for which reimbursement is claimed be approved in <br /> advance by the Police Chief, be purchased through the Department and invoiced <br /> by the vendor to the Department. <br /> 13.2 The uniform allowance is to be used for the following articles with prior approval <br /> of the Police Chief: <br /> 1) Jacket/Coats (winter/summer) <br /> 2) Shirts, Turtlenecks or Mock Turtlenecks <br /> 3) Pants <br /> 4) Garrison Belt and Accessories (batons, flashlights, etc.) <br /> 5)Boots and or Shoes <br /> 6)Neckties <br /> 7)Hats/Caps <br /> 8)Miscellaneous Other Articles With Prior Written Approval of the Police Chief <br /> 22794-1(9.16.08) 13 <br />
