City Council Minutes August 5, 2008 Page 4 of 10 some were given to the Police Chief for review. She indicated that the Chief was in the process of reviewing all of the complaints and that the results would be reviewed with Council Member Oraskovich. The Mayor noted that she and Council Member Oraskovich reviewed all of the complaints that were for Council only. The Mayor gave a brief description of the complaints. She noted that due to data privacy requirements she could not mention any names related to the complaints. The Mayor noted that she will respond personally to each complaint that was reviewed by the Council. Council Member Ryan questioned whether the complaints were handled according to statutory requirements. Mayor Malecha noted that she and Council Member Oraskovich made the determination to review the complaints after discussing this with the City Attorney. Chief Braam noted that in the last three years there have been about 14,000 incidents handled by the police department. He indicated that he reviews all complaints according to policy. The Chief read the mission statement form the Police Department and indicated the department believes in the statement. 10. City Clerk's Report Report received by Council. 10.1. Resolution Appointing Election Judges The Clerk updated the Council on the election process. She noted that the Primary Election will be held on September 9th. The Clerk presented a resolution appointing the Election Judges for the Primary Election. COUNCIL MEMBER ORASKOVICH MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 08-23 APPOINTING ELECTION JUDGES FOR THE SEPTEMBER 9, 2008, PRIMARY ELECTION. COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. 10.2. Cole Memorial Building Use The City Clerk noted that several issues have come to light regarding the use of this building: • The Historical Society's Lease needs to be updated
