City Council Minutes <br />August 5,2014 <br />Page 3 of9 <br />Fire Chief Nelson explained that the Cuyuna Range Fire Chiefs are <br />working on a shared services grant application to help fire and rescue <br />service organizations to work together to become more effective and more <br />efficient. Chief Nelson requested that the Council send a letter of support <br />indicating that the City of Pequot Lakes is interested in pursuing the grant. <br />COUNCIL MEMBER GARDNER MOVED TO AUTHORIZE A FORMAL <br />LETTER IN SUPPORT OF THE SHARED SERVICES GRANT <br />APPLICAT¡ON. COUNC¡L MEMBER AKERSON SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4.0. <br />8.1. Çitv of Jenkins Police Conlract <br />COUNCIL MEMBER GARDNER MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 14- <br />15, THE 2015 LAW ENFORCEMENT CONTRACT AND JOINT <br />POWERS AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES <br />AND THE CITY OF JENKINS. COUNCILMEMBER AKERSON <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4.0. <br />8.2. Jenkins Township Police Contract <br />COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO ADOPT RESOLUTION 14. <br />16, THE 2015 LAW ENFORCEMENT CONTRACT AND JOINT <br />POWERS AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES <br />AND JENKINS TOWNSHIP. COUNCILMEMBER GARDNER <br />SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4.0. <br />8,3. Animal Control Contract - 2015 <br />COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO APPROVE THE <br />CONTRACT FOR ANIMAL CONTROL SERVICES FOR THE CITY OF <br />PEQUOT LAKES AND THE CITY OF JENKINS FOR 2015 WITH DON <br />HANNAHS JR. COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4.0. <br />L Public Works <br />9.1. Recommendation for Dog Park Location <br />Mike Loven explained that the Park Commission has recommended that <br />.the Council approve the relocation of the dog park from Sibley Lake Park <br />to the water tower property owned by the City. The recommendation to <br />move the park is due to the inadequate space at Sibley Lake Park.
