City Council Minutes
September 6, 2022
for twenty-five years of neglect. Trying to address that and they didn't get any
training and everything in the past was secretive. He said Tamra and Lynn are
doing a great job. Tyler said there is no guidance. Ridgley Tammy was working
with somebody and they were left with. Tamra currently in audit and Dan asked
where is that information cyclopedia or direct you to somebody
All in the last year. Year and a half. Which is that's a difficult part for our staff
because they don't have any say over what happens at the HR. We had a
resident that. I don't understand how the paperwork thing goes. They have to fill
out something every year for you guys to maintain certification. Yeah, yeah, and
they. We're given no help or guidance or anything. And when we looked into that,
you can give a reasonable accommodation if somebody's handicapped and they
need help, we can't write whatever the case. Well, they went in there twice, I
believe, and the door was locked, so they came here in our city. Administrator
ended up helping the guy fill out his paper. That's one of them. Yeah. I don't
know, in the last few months probably. We are not allowed to talk to people. Well,
that's what I we, we asked Eric that at our meeting here and he said that you can
give reasonable accommodation. If, I mean how can you if you can't fill it out,
how can?Yeah, I mean physically. Or family members. So that's that's one of the
things that came up. There's there's a whole list of course that that that has come
in. But one of the questions we had here is what? Let's see. The Council wanted
to know what the HR is doing to handle resident concerns. Why are they coming
past you to us and along with that is residents that have had complaints and want
to bring them up. Feel afraid to bring them up because they're afraid of addiction
or retaliation of some sort. And I mean, respond while you will, but this is real
feelings for real people. So when it's coming to our staff. Ultimately, they're your
residence, but there are constituents. So that's the dilemma here. We wanna
help our. Citizens of town. What we have to do that? So. You get a lot of
complaints that come to the board. From residents. You've been at word
meeting. Have you noticed many of the residents coming to the meeting? So I
think I've noticed two in the last. Your eight months, whatever, yeah. Meetings
are posted in the building. I believe. Hmm. So. They're aware. Of where and
when. Some may not be able physically to come out to the meetings, but that
wouldn't be true. There's a mechanism and somebody has a concern. Some
people. Others. The number one fear that everyone has speaking public,
speaking in public is not everybody's Forte. So is there a mechanism where they
could form?Yes, yes there is. Not getting dressed. Yeah, I'm sure the board, no.
Because the board does not handle that. That is up to the executive director and
the assistant director. And if you have a problem you need, there's a chain of
command, which I'm sure you have in the city. You go to one of them and talk to
them. For a lot of the complaints, the board would have no say so on. We can
offer advice, but I don't think we can make a decision on the board is the
governing body. So you have the ultimate say, yeah, yeah. So if they can't get
satisfaction going through the first step, yeah, then they can bring it to the board.
Director to OK. The resident has. Might be. Who would they go to 1st?Tammy.
And. Amy. Doesn't pay more. Campaign all the complaint, or it may be about 10.
Next time we come to the park, right? Yes. They don't feel like they're being
satisfied. Right or wrong with might feel that way, and then they have another.
