Equipment Sale Update <br /> Rich Spiczka said the equipment that was sold brought in money to make it <br /> possible to buy a sweeper which is a piece off equipment that would be more <br /> useful to city staff. He said the sweeper does have a vac on it and that enables it <br /> to be used in water and sewer applications especially cleaning out storm sewers. <br /> Mr. Spiczka said they sold the mower with the deck on it and that was not part of <br /> the original ask on the asset exchange in June, but the street sweeper is. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RONNING MOVED TO APPROVE TO ALLOCATE$5,500 <br /> FROM THE SALE OF THE JOHN DEERE MOWER TO THE EQUIPMENT <br /> CARRYOVER FUND. COUNCIL MEMBER SEILS SECONDED THE MOTION. <br /> MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER SEILS MOVED TO APPROVE TO THE PURCHASE OF <br /> THE 2009 STREET SWEEPER AT$64,000 WITH THE FUNDS FROM THE <br /> SALE OF EQUIPMENT APPROVED AT THE JUNE 2022 COUNCIL MEETING. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER CLEMENT SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 9.3 Approval of Maintenance Worker Hire <br /> Richard Spiczka stated Dalton Engholm submitted his resignation on September <br /> 13, 2022. He requested to hire Tayler Richardson at Grade 10, Step 2 to fill the <br /> vacancy. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER RONNING MOVED TO APPROVE TO HIRE TAYLER <br /> RICHARDSON FOR FULL-TIME MAINTENACE WORKER AT GRADE 10, <br /> STEP 2. COUNCIL MEMBER CLEMENT SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br /> CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 9.4. Patriot Ave Test Section Discussion <br /> Mr. Spiczka said staff is looking for some feedback from Council about the test <br /> section and what a permanent solution may look like. Mr. Houle said the intent of <br /> the test section was to get feedback and asked the Council if there is an initial <br /> direction that they would like to go. Council Member Ronning said the feedback <br /> he received started out negative and people didn't understand it was just a test. <br /> He said after he explained what they were trying to do by slowing traffic down <br /> and creating more parking spots he did not hear much feedback after that was <br /> explained. He said he hear that parking was too small and short and they were <br /> happy to hear that it was to help slow traffic down to make it safer. Mayor <br /> Gardner agreed and added that he did here complaints about the furthest north <br /> portion being confusing and people drive through the turn lane. He suggested <br /> moving all traffic to west side and parking diagonal on the park side. Council <br /> Member Sells stated that people were confused about whether they could park <br /> there or not. Discussion ensued about potential changes to test area and an <br /> estimate of costs. Discussion ensued on where the money will come from. <br />
